Yarranlea OSHC and Vacation Care Service – Coordinator

This role represents a unique career opportunity to work in a boutique service. Licenced for just 24 children we intend to remain a small, caring, community focussed service. This hands-on role involves the challenge of combining the management of a small service while also caring for and creating a wonderful and engaging environment for the children.
The successful candidate will use their well-developed interpersonal skills to lead an established and capable team of committed professionals. Yarranlea OSHC and Vacation Care operates within Yarranlea Primary School which is situated within the leafy grounds of Griffith University’s Mount Gravatt Campus in Brisbane. The school caters for students from Prep to Grade 6.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, committed, knowledgeable and experienced OSHC Coordinator /Educational Leader to join our team.

The successful applicant:
• Must be available Monday – Friday BSC 7am till 9am & ASC 3pm till 6pm
• Must be available Monday – Friday during school holidays for Vacation Care

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Managing the day to day running of the service
• Liaison by phone and/or email correspondence with all families
• Use of CCMS software or willing to learn the operation of the software
• Programming and planning for the service
To be successful in this role you must:
• Hold a minimum of 2 year qualification (Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care) as required by the National Regulations
• Must hold a current First Aid, CPR and Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications
• Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
• Current Child protection training certificate and good knowledge of child protection requirements
• Knowledge and experience with the National Quality Framework, My Time Our Place, QIP, National Regulations and the ratings and assessment accreditation process for ACECQA
• Have experience working with children 5 – 12 years old
• Ability to develop, implement and evaluate programs for children 5-12 years old
• While responsible to the Principal you must be capable of working unsupervised and as a team leader/member, liaising with the Business Manager, school staff, parents, the school, and directors of the school board in managing the day to day running of the service
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in leading, guiding and supporting a team
• Knowledge of WHS
• Well-developed office management, administration, computer literacy and time management skills
• Developed decision-making, problem solving, planning and organisation skills
