We are looking for a bubbly, passionate and exceptional Assistant Coordinator/ Teacher Aid to join our unique Primary School and Outside School Hours Care Facility. OSHC Licensed currently for 30 children.

You will hold 

  • Teacher Aid Knowledge
  • Diploma in Child Care (equivalent or working towards) and have full knowledge of Outside School Hours Care programs.
  • You will understand and have full knowledge of the Child Care Regulations and Legislation.
  • You will understand the NQS and be across the My Time Our Place framework. Nature Play or Playwork knowledge an advantage.
  • You will have experience as a Responsible Person

 

This is a permanent full-time position working 38hrs per week:

Mon – 9:30am – 6:00pm,

Tues-Fri – 10:00pm – 6:00pm,

30min meal break. 

 

Located in a peaceful bushland setting, where children can enjoy play in an environment that allows them to feel safe and relaxed. They interact with friends and educators, practice social skills, solve problems, try new activities, and learn life skills. This hands-on role provides the opportunity for an educator to obtain valuable experience in assisting with the management of a service whilst also caring for and creating a wonderful and engaging environment for the children.  We intend to remain a small, caring, community focussed service.  

 

Role

The role of Assistant Coordinator/Teacher Aide is to facilitate OSHC After School Care – ASC with implementation of an approved learning framework, and support children’s wellbeing, learning and development and assist the teachers.

You will work as the RP and in line with another educator for ASC providing supervision on your own or within a team and also within a classroom directly assisting the teacher and the requirements required.

 

You will report to the Principal and OSHC Director.

Position Description

 

  • Teacher Aide responsibilities and duties – as outlined by Teacher/Principal
  • RP which includes and is not limited to all Child Care related activities, programing, and planning.
  • To maintain compliance with the National Law and National Regulations
  • To collaborate with families, staff, and educators in implementing a quality Service
  • Meeting duty of care obligations to ensure children are protected from harm and hazard
  • To keep up to date with child protection training to ensure children’s safety
  • To manage the day-to-day operational requirements of the OSHC service in the absence of the Approved Provider/Nominated Supervisor/Director

 

About you

 

  • You are an experienced Diploma qualified (equivalent or working towards) Child Care educator.
  • You must enjoy working with Prep to Year 6 children and be open, spontaneous, and instinctual with children’s play, and able to follow policies and procedures.
  • You will understand and have a working knowledge of the required Regulations and Legislation, hold a Child Safety Certificate, be across the NQS and the My Time Our Place framework, and all other necessary Outside School Hours Care obligations.
  • Reliability, punctuality, being flexible, well presented, and passionate about children’s play within a safe, caring and community minded environment is paramount. Food handling and general cleaning duties will be part of your daily routine. 

To be successful in this role you must hold

  • Working with Children Blue Card
  • Child Safety Certificate
  • Current First Aid,
  • CPR, Asthma, Anaphylaxis  
  • As per Child Care Health Directive you must be fully vaccinated

 

Hours/Conditions/Award

The successful candidate must be available to work at least

  • 38 hours per week full time
  • OSHC Service is closed for 2weeks per year.

(These 2 weeks can be paid from your annual leave or chosen to be taken unpaid)

  • Remuneration is as per the Educational Services General Staff Award 2020 (depending on qualifications and experience).
